- Long-running partnership extended through 2022
- TOTAL to supply all SRO race series as part of expanded commitment
- Brand to continue as title sponsor of Total 24 Hours of Spa
- Carbon offset program for the fuel used during the races
SRO Motorsports Group has strengthened its long-standing technical and commercial partnership with Total thanks to an expanded three-year agreement that will lead to 25 years of success and victories.
The brand will continue as title sponsor of the Total 24 Hours of Spa throughout this period, building upon a relationship that stretches back to 2007. Total will also act as sole supplier of the CORE 50 reference fuel, an industry leading product tailored to meet any challenge on the extensive range of race series promoted by SRO Motorsports Group, which include leading international, continental and domestic championships.
In the European and Asian markets, ELF - a brand of TOTAL - will embody Total’s commitment to the series, while the TOTAL name will be prominently displayed in the United States and will continue to be featured at the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
What's more, SRO has partnered with Total to reduce the environmental impact of the series. The CO2 emissions of the fuel used during the races will be offset thanks to two high quality forest preservation programs in Brazil and Indonesia, on continents where SRO hosts races, highlighting the companies' shared commitment to sustainable motorsport.
A host of SRO championships will launch over the coming weeks, including the global GT World Challenge Powered by AWS, which consists of continental series in Europe, Asia and North America. The annual centerpiece event will be the Total 24 Hours of Spa, which this year takes place on 23rd-26th July.
Philippe Charleux, TOTAL Senior Vice President Lubricants and Specialties: “This renewal of our partnership with the SRO Motorsports Group seals a flawless collaboration and we are more than happy that this fruitful cooperation soon reach 25 years. Continuously working to improve fuels quality is truly part of our teams’ DNA and SRO races provide the perfect fit as a technology laboratory for road cars fuels.”
Stephane Ratel, SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO: "We are delighted to confirm the continuation of our successful relationship with Total. They have been valued technical and commercial partners for many years, playing an important role in improving our product both on and off the circuit. We were therefore very confident in entrusting them with the fuel supply for all of our series. What's more, I am proud that SRO will join Total’s carbon offset program from this year. I applaud the work being done in this area and hope that we can play a part in supporting their efforts."
